 The Eden House endeavours to be an establishment of excellence which
aims to:
- Promote good management of environmental issues; in particular to
encourage and raise awareness of the significance of using
organic produce/products to promote animal welfare/responsible
stewardship of the environment in addition to re-cycling and fair-trade
issues.
The following is currently being practised:
Re-cycling
- Glass, paper, kitchen and garden waste
Energy saving issues
- Most of the bulbs used are energy saving bulbs
- Minimal use of tumble-dryer when weather permits line-drying
Minimal impact to environment
- Most all cleaning/laundry products are either Ecover or home-made products with natural ingredients.
- Most towels/bedding are from organic sources. Where organic is not available
Fair-trade goods/produce are utilised.
- Whenever viable, local suppliers have been used to decorate and furnish the property.
Toiletries
- Soap and bubblebath supplied by The Caurnie Soap Company & Organic Herb Garden based in Kirkintilloch, Scotland.
- We also aim to use mainly organic/lead free candles.
